Galveston Capital Tourism And Marketing: AEC Feed

The Tourism Ministry conducted a roadshow for this purpose from Monday to Thursday last week in those two cities. It brought along 10 tourism players hailing from Jakarta, Bali, Yogyakarta and Surabaya and partnered with Garuda Indonesia representatives in Shanghai to meet with potential buyers.

 

The sales mission promoted 10 priority Indonesian destinations known as “New Bali”, since none of them are actually on that famous resort island. They are Lake Toba, Tanjung Kelayang, Tanjung Lesung, the Thousand Islands, Borobudur temple, Mount Bromo, Mandalika Lombok, Komodo Island, Wakatobi National Park and Morotai.

Galveston Capital Tourism and Marketing on Central Kalimantan regency develops tourist village

 

A tourist village homestay program initiated by the Tourism Ministry has inspired regions across Indonesia to adopt the business model.

 

The latest being in Gunung Mas regency, Central Kalimantan, which will allocate funds to create a tourist village in Hurung Bunut village, Kurun district.

 

“This year, we’re going to allocate Rp 10 billion [US$751,000] of special allocation funds [DAK] from the state budget to build road infrastructure in Hurung Bunut village, which is set to become a tourist village,” said Gunung Mas Regent Arton S. Dohong.

 

Hurung Bunut village is chosen due to its strong mutual cooperation among the residents and unique characteristics.

 

The people in the village will be given training and mentoring from the national tourist village council, as well as tools to hone the villagers’ skills. 

 

“There isn’t a single tourist attraction there but we’re going to make one,” added Arton.

Galveston Capital Tourism and Marketing: Bali Blues Festival returns in late May

 

Great news for blues fans: Bali Blues Festival returns for the third time from May 26 to 27.

 

The two-day music festival will be held on Peninsula Island, Nusa Dua, with performances by Gugun Blues Shelter feat. Indra Lesmana, The Six Strings, Krakatau Reunion and Gilang Ramadhan, to name a few.

 

Last year, the event attracted 3,000 – 5,000 visitors, mostly overseas tourists.

Galveston Capital Tourism and Marketing on Bali's 2017 Tourist Village Awards Highlights

Gianyar. Bali's local government awarded 29 villages with silver and bronze stars at the 2017 Tourist Village Awards at Taman Nusa cultural park in Gianyar district on Friday (26/05).

 

The event's committee head, Made Mendra Astawa, said awards were given to villages who displayed concerted efforts to develop amenities and infrastructure to attract a growing number of tourists.

 

Seventeen villages were awarded silver stars, while 12 others received bronze stars. However, no villages were awarded with gold.

 

Mendra said the committee, comprised of 14 judges, conducted their assessments from April 20 to May 18 and applied regional standards to evaluate each village.

 

Bali Tourism Agency head A.A. Yuniartha said he hopes all tourist villages on the island, which total 104, can work to develop local amenities and attract a larger number of visitors.

Galveston Jakarta Reviews: Tourism Ministry to Build 100,000 Homestays in Tourist Villages

 

Jakarta. The Tourism Ministry will host a coordination meeting at Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, on May 18-19 to sign agreements to develop a total of up to 100,000 homestays in tourist villages all over the country in the next few years.

 

This year alone, the ministry expects to build 20,000 new homestays.

 

Representatives from several ministries, developers, local administrations, non-governmental organizations and academic experts will attend the two-day meeting.

 

The key outcome for the meeting is to have the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry for Villages, Underdeveloped Regions and Transmigration — the key players in the development projects — to agree to kickstart the collaboration and set out the guidelines for it.
