Why Are We So Afraid to Be Alone?

Perhaps one of the things I’m confronted with the most in the people I work with is how lonely everyone is.  People who desperately want a boyfriend or girlfriend in order to take away their loneliness.  People who have a spouse/life partner/boyfriend/girlfriend and want an affair because they feel alone and separate from their partners.

I Just Can’t Stop The Negative Thinking

Most people who come to me with issues around food and weight have self-esteem and self-image issues.  Many have been diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety disorders, some have even been labelled “Bipolar”.  Oftentimes it turns out that they are not, in fact, clinically depressed, nor do they have generalized anxiety disorder, neither are they bipolar.

The “Fit in 20” Philosophy: “Less is More”

In 2009 I watched Dr. Ken Kinakin, DC, CSCS, prepare for a powerlifting competition. I used to work with him, so I was able to follow his training regimen closely. His workouts lasted no longer than 20-30 minutes, he never did any cardio, and he never trained more than 3 to 4 times per week.
